Definitely white

Brenda writes: “After another busy night in the trap numbers of turnip moths were soaring – seizing first place with 22 moths. It was also nice to have several willow beauties and common wainscot. A pine hawk moth flew in during the afternoon and settled on the house wall overnight and there were two poplar hawks in the trap, one of which climbed onto my hand as I was emptying the trap. There was nothing new today but we did have a white ermine. We saw lots of the Scottish version back in June at Dungarthill House, but the English version really is white.”
