A bevy of doves

Another somewhat drizzly day saw us with no time for wildlife watching. However on an errand into Wells on foot I did see something I had not seen here before: In one front garden, where they had put out bird food, there were eight collared doves. We have two and sometimes three in our back garden, but I had not seen this many together (apparently the most commonly used collective noun for doves is a bevy). It reminded me that they are rather pretty birds that are often overlooked.
